Lisa and the girls came riding up and the girls said they saw something red and white coming down the drive. Lisa did not see it. Pops went in to investigate.

About five minutes later as we were giving Cap our lunch orders, Stubby came walking out to the deck and asked Cap to get him any leftovers in the kitchen, on the boat, in his house, and anywhere else he could think – he was hungry.

Lisa looked at him and asked how the hell he got out. Then Moms walked out, both in nurse uniforms and smiling really big.

They had arrived at the hospital five minutes after we left. They called Stubby’s doctor and introduced themselves. He gave the orders and here we are.

Pops asked how many lies they told and Stubby said none that he heard. Pops laughed and hugged Moms. We’ll never know what they said.

They immediately started barking orders. Cap let them finish and told them he was preparing lunch and to sit down and chill.

While we waited for lunch Moms explained that they had finished their meetings at midnight (it was NOT their idea) and caught a flight out this morning.

They made several arrangements yesterday afternoon and evening with the hospital and a medical supply shop – they knew the owner.

We would soon have a hospital bed setup in the back guest room which opened right to the kitchen deck, bar and kitchen – everything Stubby said he needed.

Sometimes life can turn around so quick.
