The beach is the BEST place to have an office meeting.

So relaxing, so productive and so drunken.

We are a bunch of lushes. We started at lunch and fifteen hours later we are all awake and having a great time.

The resort folks built us a fire pit in our patio area not far from the hot tubs. We now think we have everything we need.

It is 74 with almost no wind and we can see some stars. It seems like it has rained about two minutes of each hour but it is not really a bother. Just have to clean off our sunglasses every so often.

Tonight we are the only guests at the resort. That is so sad. Usually we arrive a week before vacation and within a day the place is close to full. They are not expecting other guests until late Sunday.

But I must say we like the attention we get. For supper tonight we each had two wait people – talk about service.

Stubby figured out how to run in the sand with his tennis shoes. He said he locked something in his bionic ankle. He has drawn a lot of attention. I heard someone ask if he lost his leg in Iraq.

He told them a couple of wars before but was not specific. He quickly excused himself and Momtoo went after him. We asked but she would not talk.

We learned that Blackmama had never eaten shrimp. After the first half-dozen she repeated her mantra to find a job and a place to live – she was not going back to the main land.

Tonight the chef brought a giant bowl with two or three dozen shrimp and cocktail sauce – he could not believe she ate the whole thing. When she sent her steak back for 'just a little more' grill time he came out and offered to dig a pit and cook a pig. She told him he could do that Christmas Eve.

She says it has been a long time since someone has cooked such good food for her. She is taking advantage of it while she can. Pops told her he would get the chef and her a room. She said he had not earned 'that' just yet,

So we are all in swim suits tring to keep cool instead of tring to keep warm like Captain back home – I almost forgot. Liz came out to the beach this morning wearing a tiny bikini. Pops and Stubby were laying closer to the resort then us and the teens laid between us and them.

About three minutes later Mom said something which meant check out the scenery walking by.

But in this case she wanted us to check out Liz. She was wearing a thong and on her stomach. The girl has a very nice butt.

Pops and Stubby went for a swim and when they came back Stubby went bonkers (I think that is what Pops said). Liz told him to grow up – she was.

Stubby was not sure what to say but Annie and Summer showed up about that time wearing even smaller thongs.

I am sure I saw him get an erection. He left the beach in a hurry and never said another mean thing to Liz.

I saw him kiss her good night so I am assuming he has accepted his daughter’s growing up.

Nothing else new. Just loving this weather.

Just talked to Captain – he has almost a quarter inch of ice on every surface. And it is raining with lightning. The rain is freezing on impact.

He lost power three or four times and finally fired up the generators and disconnected from the grid(Sp??).

He and Cheese put six eight foot logs in the big fireplace – from past experience they’ll last for almost two days.

I am sitting on the balcony drinking coffee and typing this. It is 73 degrees and humid – but it feels so good.

Erin, Fire and the teens all went for a swim when we arrived last evening and the teens starting sleeping on their balcony but we are having scattered showers so they went to real beds about 3 AM.

Moms already have a slight burn from this afternoon.

So in summary, we made it. We are all in heaven and Blackmama says she is looking for a job tomorrow and a permanent home.

We usually have a daily vote to determine if we are leaving or staying. One year it NEVER stopped raining. We never saw the sun. We went home eight days early.

The funniest moment – Stubby and Lisa took a run on the beach and Stubby tripped face first into the sand. He said he had a similar problem running on a muddy field.

He has to change to a spring instead of a shoe. The shoe sticks in the sand or mud. The only problem – he left it at home. So he tried…and tried…and tried….and tried but is having no luck with the running shoe.

Someone offered him a flip flop but Lisa said he already had one in his pants.

He carried her out into the ocean, dumped her and prevented her from getting back to shore for almost an hour. She was not happy. I think Stubby slept in Pops room. Later.

I just read something that I really like:
Only write what is absolutely necessary to make your point.
Not a word more.
Click To See/Hide The Rest +/-

It was on a writing blog and I hope I have correctly quoted it.

So without further ado, we are packed – remind me to NEVER EVER AGAIN ask fourteen women to accompany me on a trip to a tropical paradise.

I finally made them throw out all makeup, consolidate all sun tan lotion into several plastic bags filling one large suit case, and bring only one dress apiece for Christmas Day dinner.

We finally got the luggage down to two dozen pieces not counting computers and other carryon stuff.

Luckily I chartered a plane to take us first to Florida and then to St. Thomas. The extra bag fees would bankrupt me.

It was 86 today with scattered showers and is currently 75 with high surf warnings until 6 PM tomorrow.

I just brought in a load of firewood – it is 21 degrees outside with three inches of snow over a half inch of ice. My two wheel drive car can not make it out of the drive.

Tomorrow we have freezing rain in the forecast and more snow.

I ordered a 4-wheel drive extended Hummer to take us to a local airport to meet our plane and Captain is bringing my 4-wheel drive vehicle with all the luggage in the back to the airport to say goodbye.

He is the smart one – he has no desire to leave his chilly environs for sandy beaches.

Stubby had been trying to decide what swim trunks look best with his bionic leg. Lisa told him she had the perfect suit. She stripped him then wrapped a ribbon around his dick and put a bow on it.

Dani got a picture for the archives.

Moms arrived about an hour ago in St. Thomas and have been told the resort is only 1/3 full because of the economy.

They say our wing of rooms is perfect – it even has six hot tubs on the bottom floor.

So everyone is excited and barely sleeping. Our flight leaves at 9 AM – we are hoping to make Florida and possibly go on to St. Thomas tomorrow late afternoon.

I am not sure if any posting will get done – I am done until the New Year – I think.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to All.

See you next year.

Dani aced a final today and turned in her paper she didn’t start until about nine last night.

Moms sent a comment that their return flight to St. Thomas had been cancelled. They needed new flights or whatever but had waited on hold for an hour.

Lisa took over then called Blackmama for help. Blackmama got their non-refundable tickets refunded and also have them on two different flights just to be safe.

They will arrive a day before us but Blackmama checked and was able to move their arrival date up a day. She also verified our reservations and talked to the manager.

She worked out a better deal. We get one wing (twelve rooms-six suites) to ourselves. Never would have thought of that myself.

Debby is now safely stowed in the room next to Liz’s here. Captain made her four different courses for breakfast this morning. The odd thing is that Debby has only gained twenty-five pounds. The classmates want her to gain more but from the ‘good’ food groups.

Rose (her sister) tried to sneak in some Resse’s cups – three packs – about 10 packs. Captain caught her and brought Debby down here and let her watch each of us eat two of them (they are too sweet for me).

Captain told Rose that if she ever tried to sneak snack food in for her again, he would make her eat it all at one setting while her sister watched. When Henry came over he was not happy with either of them.

Dani got home late and went to talk to Debby. When I went in to ask Dani a question I saw Debby hide something in her hand. I gave her a look and she opened her hand to show me a fun size candy bar.

Dani took full responsibility and promised she would not do it again. I could not be angry with either of them. When I was first diagnosed as diabetic, Dani would sneak me hard candy or half a brownie or cookie. I know how they both feel.

Stubby had a joint break while he was jogging – he had to hop back about a half mile. This afternoon he took another run but he had a back pack.

When he got back he showed me his spare leg in the back pack. He told me hopping on one leg was the hardest thing to do now that he was used to having two legs.

The same joint seized this evening while he was walking up the stairs. I took it apart but didn’t really see anything. He has an appointment at 7 AM to get it replaced or repaired.

Annie and Summer are here tonight – they are going upstate for a half day tomorrow and wanted a head start. But if you remember, Annie is cold blooded so I cranked up the backup furnace for the top floors and I’ve got a big fire going.

It is about 92 degrees here in the computer room and about 78 in the great room. It is about 7 outside – luckily no wind.

Creek from river to back pasture has about an inch of ice on top – it froze fast but it’ll be 45 on Thursday when we leave. Dani says she is wearing shorts. We’ll see.

Two more days then a night in Florida and we’ll be there.
