Dani's Daily Update Feb 8, 2008

Pops woke us up at midnight unable to breath. He didn’t shake us awake or holler we heard him coughing and hacking. Lisa was with him (she told us to leave him alone and it turned out she slept on the very edge of the bed in case he had a problem.

Pops told us to go back to sleep but there was no way. He sounded terrible. Lisa got a breathing treatment ready and he sucked on it five minutes but ended up coughing more. I remember moms saying that if a treatment didn’t help there was not much we could do but wait it out.

At one when pops had fallen back asleep then woke back up coughing he told us he was going to share a secret but we must promise we would never tell moms. We agreed and followed him to the garage. He went to a cubbyhole on his workbench and somehow the entire cubbyhole slipped out.

It was ‘one’ of his secret hiding places and he lit a smoke. He took three puffs and a deep breath – well as deep as he could – and handed it to Annie and told her to go slow he might need more.

After a couple of minutes his breathing got better but he started coughing again. He took three more puffs and when he was done he was fixed. It was the most amazing thing I had ever seen. Lisa said it was impossible – against every bit of training she had ever received.

He told her that’s why she had to keep it a secret. As he put his hiding space back together BBs asked how many he had. He told her several and pointed out one to Lisa and told her to get in. She failed but pops showed her how and she came out with a stack of money. He called it his mad money.

He would not share anymore with us but he asked Annie if she wanted to hold his dick while he peed – BBs beat her to it.

He crawled back in bed and was immediately asleep. We all sat quietly talking and finally fell asleep in his bed. Somehow he got away from his ‘guards’ without waking us at 7 and Annie woke up at 730 but could not find him.

She woke us and Lisa found him in the garage having another attack and he had just lit his smoke when we all walked in. He heard something on the other side of the garage door and reached for a long coat he keeps by the outside door just in case.

But he didn’t use the outside door – nope he smiled and hit the button for the overhead. We girls all scrambled for the house door and Annie said she looked over her shoulder just as she turned the corner and there was a deer licking the salt block moms keep by the walk to the front door.

We all started back but as soon as we felt the cold air we retreated back to bed to warm up. We only meant to stay for a few minutes but Lisa woke us up about a half hour ago. We had all fallen back to sleep.

Another day starts.
