The kids and I got to work about nine and the kids gave BB the full tour. She was really impressed with Annie’s pool and FIRE & G’s living space.

Then they found Annie’s roof deck and loved the view. Lisa, Jeni, Annie, Summer, Cindy, Fire, G and Red all showed up about the same time and pointed out their favorite parts.

Annie opened some of her mail. One was her gas bill. She let out a few choice cusswords and grabbed her phone.

Her pool is heated. Not that hot but enough so that you know it. Her gas bill was unbelievably high. They told her that it takes a lot of energy to heat that much water.

Annie called the pool people and they made an appointment for Monday to make sure everything was working right. They agreed her bill seemed awfully high.

Blackmama took the bill and disappeared downstairs. Annie said if she was going to pay so much to have the pool then she wanted the damn thing used.

She said last one in pays her gas bill and she stripped and dived in naked. All the girls followed suit. I was the last one in because I wanted to make sure the elevators were locked out – I have to protect the innocence of the kids, you know?

The water was perfect, we loved it. Blackmama came back wanting to know who locked the elevators out but as soon as she saw us she didn’t need to know.

She showed Annie a fax that was her new bill – they had billed her using the commercial rate and also tracked peak usage. Those rules do not apply to personal residences.

Her gas bill was now a fourth of its original cost. She had also changed Fear, G, and Pops’ places to residential.

Annie invited her in but she said we did NOT want to see her naked – we’d lose our breakfast and our lunch – which was still a couple of hours away.

We played tag and found that Liz is a great swimmer and can hold her breath for a long time.

We got tired and many of the girls went to the roof deck to let the sun dry them and get some sun.

Nobody bothered with clothes. Lisa and Annie were having a smoke and Liz asked for one. We could tell she was an old hand at it.

When she caught the looks she told us she had been hiding it. Please don’t tell her dad – she would do it.

I could tell Lisa was already thinking about a plan to get them all to quit.

A little later I showed Liz our computer system and listed a couple of things I did not like. Five minutes later the problems were gone.

Blackmama had eavesdropped and wondered if such and such could be done. Thirty seconds later it was fixed. I asked her how much she would charge me to help maintain our system. She had no idea so I called the HR person and the number she gave me surprised me – it made Liz glow with anticipation.

If she could work enough maybe she would have enough to by her dream car about the same time she got her license. I smiled inside – boy was she going to be surprised.

It was close to lunchtime when the kids finished their conference room design. Liz took a look and asked a few questions and B saw where she was going and they changed it.

Turns out Liz is pretty good at seeing things too.
