After Cindy and Denny’s great news Saturday night, many gathered to watch the Cubs kick ass.

By the 7th inning, most everyone but Pops and Captain were gone or asleep.

Davis showed up late – the classmates had just gone to work – he was as upset as Pops. I was sitting with the teens and Red dropped by. She and Fish had been visiting his paternal grandparents.

When Pops and Captain saw Fish they actually ignored the game and started playing with him instead. He fell asleep at the top of the ninth inning.

No one watched the last two outs. Pops turned the TV back on after thirty minutes to make sure they were not still playing.

The Cubs were off topic for the rest of the weekend. Oh well.

Pops and Captain have said they will never watch the Cubs again. They are done.

At least the Sox are still in it.
