The kids say Ike was prettier on radar and satellite then in person. Captain came back to put the boat up in dry dock.

He came in for some coffee and said the rain gauge showed 6.3 inches – Pops said he emptied it at 7 am so we got lots of rain.

Liz wanted to know if we had any kites – the wind is steady and in the right direction to hold a kite up.

I noticed that Stubby had left and he came back with a dozen kites and as many spools of string. I didn’t ask but I have a feeling he had them stashed at his place.

Pops has three TVs going – Bears on one – Colts on a second and the race on the other. He is also taping something later this afternoon and is pissed he was sick last week and missed the final episode of Ice Truckers? Whatever the hell that is.

Stubby is laughing watching the kids trying to fly kites. Moms are up on the 3rd floor balcony still feeling out of it. Red is in bed still and Fish is beside me taking a nap.

The sky is much brighter and once in a while I think I can see the sun. We might be back to normal before the day is up.

The kids just came in – they are starved – that’s a good sign. I’m hungry too and Lisa just said she could eat the ass out of a dead rhinoceros. What movie did that come from. Lisa decided we would try a cook out. Simple food but lots of it.
