Today turned out to be a great day – after 1 pm. Moms made their homemade burger patties – yum yum – the classmates brought some brats, Pops had some Polish Sausage squirreled away and Captain made shish kabob hotdogs – I know they sound terrible but were actually quite good with all the different veggies.

The kids and Pops made potato bags (sliced potatoes with butter and onions wrapped in alum foil and put right on the goals for 30 minutes). Lisa made sweet potato bags – same as potato but with butter and brown sugar – great stuff.

Pops grilled the rest of his Vandalia Onions and Captain grilled some mushrooms with green peppers.

Damn we eat good around here. Liz helped Pops make his 30 minute potato salad. G and gB made absolutely great baked beans.

When we set down to eat, the temp was 77 and the wind had died and we actually had some sun peaking out while we ate.

It was great. Many of the ole farts, as Liz calls us, even had a few beers.

So a good ending to a bad week.
