B and Her Mistake – Sep 29 2008 1730 by Dani

B decided she wanted more drama in her life. Her mother’s rule was that she not date anyone older then her until her new boyfriend had been vetted.

But B decided she did not need to follow the rules and went with a senior to lunch – in his car.

B forgot two things or chose to ignore them. First, she cannot leave campus for lunch unless she is going home. Second, all student cars are supposed to be parked in the school lot and once parked cannot be moved until school dismisses or with special permission of the principal or security office.

B’s new friend parked his car at his grandmother’s house less then a block from school. They walked to his car then went to a drive-in for lunch.

Someone at the restaurant recognized B and inquired at the school office.

When Red was called she asked that B be placed in school detention until she could leave work and handle the situation. Effectively B was suspended from all activities until next Monday.

When Red got there she got the punishment changed to ‘janitor’s helper duties”. Red invented the title. B must be at school no later then 6 am – and help get the school ready for classes.

At 10 am she goes to detention where she must read her texts and take tests. If she fails to get an A on the test another day of punishment is added.

At noon she is allowed to eat lunch with the teachers then back to detention until 3 when she helps the janitor clean the school.

At five someone from the approved list can pick her up and deposit her at Pop’s school room. She eats supper at 6 pm alone and then is restricted to the school room where she studies until 9 pm when she must go directly to her room here or at home and to bed.

No TV, no phone, no music, no conversation except with the adults who might give her tutorage. No conversation with said adults except school work.

If she breaks any of the rules, even minor until her suspension is lifted, her at home suspension will continue for another two weeks.

Each infraction, no matter how minor results in a two week extension.

WOW is all I can say. Red says she MUST get her daughter’s attention.

She already called the boy’s parents. The boy was forced to drive his car to Red’s and park it. All sets of keys were locked in a locked box which was placed into the trunk. The keys to the lock box were dropped into the river by the boy.

When his birthday comes around in December, if he has made enough money he can have a locksmith get the trunk open and open the lock box.

His father told him in front of Red and B that any infraction of school or home rules will result in his car being sunk at the local lime quarry pit.

Then the father made him walk the seven miles home.

I feel sorry for the boy – B suggested the lunch road trip. At first the boy refused but B used her charms. B fully admits this.

Red talked to the father later to make sure he understood the facts. The father said that his son would never let another woman charm him into trouble – at least he hoped.

So far B had not cried but when she asked Pops about the White Sox’s game he admonished her and said it was the only break she was getting from him.

She welled up with tears but was able to hold them back. I helped her with biology and I asked how she was doing. She wrote she was not allowed to discuss ANYTHING personal. I wanted to hug her but I must be strong.

I did get some ice cream for a snack and made it look like I only had one bowl but once I closed the door I separated the bowls and we shared the ice cream.

The smile was worth it and if you asshole adults are reading this, give us this one little break please OR I will help her break all the rules.

Thank you.
