It’s about 930 AM here. I just talked to Captain, it is 2 degrees back home but the wind has finally died down.

He did not want to know the temperature here (81 with a nice breeze) but he loved hearing the surf.

He asked if I had been swimming today – I told him I took a quick swim before sunrise and actually watched the sunrise on the beach while letting the wind dry me off.

He said they finally got the power back on about six last night but the cable TV was still out. He didn’t care because the sat was working fine.

He said he made a log mover – we keep several logs five to eight feet long handy to build long lasting fires. Five or six of those logs in the big fireplace will burn for over a day.

But Captain is home alone. He did not want to drag a log over the hard wood floors so he took some bigger wheels left over from a totaled 4-wheeler (I will NOT tell that story) and made a carrier. He said you fasten it to the middle of the log with a clamp and push the log over.

He said he can wheel it right to the fire place sticking one end in and then use the poker to lift it in place after unhooking the wheels.

He said it is currently 85 on the first floor of the great room. He said the third floor balcony is 62 with light winds and the top floor was 58 with a wind chill of 50 – I do not know if he was teasing or not.

I’m just happy we missed the crappy weather. Everyone here is happy. Annie took the newbies “up the hill” as we call it. A tram ride to the top of a beautiful hill – the views are fantastic.

We found that Erin is very, very afraid of heights even if completely surrounded by a steel car. We found out she has never been skiing because of it. She said she went to the top of the Sears Tower and could not leave the elevator – that’s bad.

But get this, she climbed a tree to the third floor balcony on a bet it could not be done. She is so weird about some stuff.

Last night Stubby ordered some Potato Skins and she would NOT eat them until someone scraped the green onions off. She ate them between bites of potato.

We tried not to laugh but it is so funny.

Nothing else to report. We are all getting a nice tan. Liz’s ass looks the best of all of us but Momtoo is not far behind.

Stay warm people – I did see that a warming trend is coming – Christmas might even be more white than it is now. Have fun – we will NOT be thinking about you.
