I never thought I would type or say those words as long as I stayed north of Arkansas but Ike is almost here.
It has been raining all night, our rainwater barrels are all overflowing. One river had dropped but the other is rising.
Areal flood warnings are posted all up and down the river. (Areal flood watches are for rivers and are the same as flash flood watches for normal land – I had to look it up).
They are forecasting both rivers to crest above 26 feet by Tue morning from their current levels at 15 feet.
Up near Grannies it is already flooding and IKE is still at least two hundred miles away.
We have a high wind advisory for later today – 50 to 60 mph gusts – thanks to Ike. And a forecast of possibly 12 inches of rain.
I only have one thing to say – this fucking sucks.
